President's Update - September 2026

Welcome to the 2026/2027 Cricket Season with the Murwillumbah Panthers. The committee and I are very excited for a great season for the club, building on the fantastic results from both seniors and juniors last year.

Registrations

Registrations for the 2026/27 season are now live on the Play Cricket website. Early registrations really help us plan for the season and organise uniforms and team lists etc so get your rego in ASAP. This year we have added an extra payment option for multiple payments to be spread out over the season to help support members and families.

Season Start

Juniors Under 11s games commence on Thursday 29th October

Juniors Under 12s, Under 14s and Under 16s - commences on Saturday 24th October 2026 with games up until mid-December, followed by the Christmas break. Games recommence after Christmas on Saturday 30th January 2027 and run through to Saturday 6th March 2027.

Seniors - commence on Saturday 10th October

Junior Training

Junior training commenced on Thursday 3rd September at 4pm and we had a really great turn out. We are very excited to offer teams in all 4 junior age groups this season - under 11s, under 12s, under 14s and under 16s. We welcome all new and interested boys and girls to come down to training on the 3rd and have a go at cricket.

Thank you to the coaches for stepping up and building the next generation of cricket stars. With a number of juniors representing our club at FNC and District competitions last season, we look forward to another season of great results for our kids.

Seniors season

FNCCC recently agreed to continue with the 10 team competition for LJ Hooker 1st Grade competition and to develop a process for clubs like the Panthers to move back up to the 1st grade competition in the future through a promotion and relegation system. We are excited for the pathway this creates for our 2nd grade players in the coming seasons.

As our club is 100% community and volunteer run and funded, we rely on registration fees and sponsors to keep us going. Volunteers

As a community and volunteer run club, we rely on our players, their partners, parents and interested community members to come on down and give us a hand during the season. We are particularly keen to find helpers for our canteen on game days, support for fundraising events during the season, and we are always looking for extra committee members.
