Wow this last month sure has gone fast with cricket season now in full swing. We have some really exciting things happening in and around the club, in the past few weeks and coming up before Christmas.
Ladies Days
It is great to see our Ladies Day really humming along on Thursday afternoons. The Women’s Tonk 2.0 is going really well with our ladies having a great time getting very immersed in our great game, about time I say. Before the Tonk on Thursdays we have our inaugural girls only programme with 20 + girls enjoying an action packed session thanks to Mel, Jess, Declan and their team. It really brings me joy to see the female participation at the club on the rise, which is a key strategy for the club.
Coaching and Umpiring Program
I would like to also give a shout out to those Junior players who have put their hand up to take on our Junior coach and umpiring mentor program. This is a great initiative that gives some important life skills which also helps to bring our club to together to grow as one big family. Keep up the good work.

Murwillumbah Leagues Club
I would like to welcome aboard the Murwillumbah Leagues Club as a brand new sponsor. We really appreciate their support, thank you. Our First Xl boys will be down at the leagues club this Friday afternoon (Nov 20) to do the raffles so if you are free drop down and support the boys and the leagues club, this all goes towards supporting our club too. Big thank you to the rest of our Sponsors, new and existing, your support is worth more than just a dollar value, it is helping to build our community and make it better.
Don't forget to check out our sponsors page on the club website and give them a chance for your business.

Marj Goward Day
Also in January we have an Honorary Day for Marj Goward. Marj has been a great servant to Tweed cricket for a whopping 35 years, so this day will honour her great service and thank Marj for all that she has done for cricket in the greater Tweed area, including with Murwillumbah Cricket Club. This will be a great community event with some fun games of cricket, lots of fond memories and a few speeches from those involved throughout those years. We'll keep you posted on the programme for the day as we get closer to the event. Thanks Marj Goward for a great innings, what a difference you made for cricket in the Tweed throughout your time.
That’s me for this month, see you round the grounds.
Keep a straight bat and pitch it up.
Your President
